Cottage Guide
Fern Cottage is a charming two-bedroom Cotswold cottage right in the heart of historic Winchcombe - perfect for couples or a small family looking for an easy, relaxed escape with plenty on the doorstep. Step outside and you’re instantly part of the rhythm of the town, with bakeries, pubs, cafés and lovely independent shops all just a short stroll away.
Inside, the cottage is warm and welcoming. The cosy living room with its fireplace is the perfect place to curl up after a day exploring the Cotswolds. To the rear of the cottage, you’ll find a bright open-plan kitchen and dining space, with double doors opening straight out onto the garden. Perfect for slow breakfasts, summer lunches or a glass of wine in the evening.
The garden is one of Fern Cottage’s real highlights. It’s long, private and fully enclosed, making it a peaceful little haven despite being right in the centre of town. Wander down to the bottom and you’ll find the gentle River Isbourne flowing past, which adds a wonderfully calming backdrop to the space and well as the far-reaching views of Stanway Hill. There’s also a private parking space at the rear of the property, which is a real bonus for such a central location.
Head upstairs (the stairs are a little steep, so guests will need good mobility). At the front of the cottage is the master bedroom with a super king-size bed, high ceilings and calming botanical green tones that make it a lovely place to relax and recharge.
The second bedroom sits quietly at the back of the cottage overlooking the garden. It’s a cosy double room, perfect for a small family or an extra guest.
There’s also a modern family shower room with a spacious double walk-in monsoon shower and luxury toiletries to add a little extra comfort to your stay.
Fern Cottage is all about easy Cotswold living- step out for fresh bread in the morning, wander the beautiful streets of Winchcombe, enjoy long pub lunches and countryside walks, then come back to your own peaceful garden by the river.

What our guests have said
“We had a lovely stay at Charlotte's. My husband and I travelled with our 2 year old and my mum and it was the perfect layout for us. Being close to the shops and restaurants made it easy to explore and there are lot of local kid-friendly attractions a short drive away. We'll be returning for sure!"
“This was a lovely property for a chilled weekend with my friends. We were really impressed with how well stocked the kitchen was as it meant we could cook a nice dinner with ease. We loved the location as there was a pub a few steps away and was in short driving distance to lots of attractions like Daylesford. My dog particularly enjoyed the walking routes from the town that took him to big fields to play fetch!”
“The perfect get-away for our family holiday in the perfect place. The house is located right in the centre of Stow on the Wold so all the gorgeous pubs and shops are just a stones throw away. The house was immaculate and had so many facilities. All rooms were a generous size and beds super comfy. The hosts even allowed us to check in a few hours early and we arrived to a fresh loaf of bread and milk in the fridge. 10/10 the perfect stay.”
