Overview

Tucked away in the peaceful village of Salford, Cotswold Cottage is a delightful three-bedroom retreat that comfortably sleeps five, offering a warm welcome and timeless character from the moment you arrive.

Full of period charm, the cottage features sloping ceilings, exposed beams, and original floors that gently slope with age—along with a beautiful inglenook fireplace perfect for relaxing evenings in. It’s the quintessential Cotswold escape, ideal for those looking to slow down and savour the experience of living like a local.

Salford offers a quieter, more authentic alternative to the busier tourist hotspots, yet remains conveniently close to the popular market towns of Stow-on-the-Wold, Moreton-in-Marsh and Chipping Norton. Whether you’re in the mood for a leisurely countryside walk, a day of antique hunting, or a memorable lunch in one of the region’s acclaimed gastropubs, everything is within easy reach.

This is a perfect base for those who enjoy life’s finer pleasures—from exploring scenic walking and cycling routes, to visiting historic homes and gardens, many of which are National Trust or English Heritage properties. Food lovers will also find plenty to enjoy, with excellent local farm shops, artisan bakeries, distilleries, and even cookery schools just a short drive away.

Cottage Guide

Cotswold Cottage offers a peaceful, grown-up escape for families with older children or adult groups looking to slow down and enjoy the simple pleasures of countryside life.

This thoughtfully furnished stone cottage blends classic country style with modern comforts, offering the perfect setting for quiet days and cosy evenings.

At the heart of the home is a beautifully designed country kitchen, fully equipped for everything from slow Sunday brunches to evening meals prepared with local produce. A separate pantry adds practical storage, while the adjoining boot room, with washing machine and shower room, is ideal for tidying up after long walks or bike rides through the rolling hills.

The living room invites you to unwind, with its calming decor, comfortable seating, and a welcoming fireplace — perfect for relaxed nights in. A full Sky TV package offers entertainment for all tastes, whether it’s film night with the family or catching up on your favourite series, all with views out to the peaceful village green.

Upstairs, the master bedroom features a small walk-in wardrobe and a restful atmosphere for a truly restorative night’s sleep. The second bedroom can be arranged as a twin, ideal for older children or teens, and the third single bedroom offers a quiet space to read, rest, or work if needed. The family bathroom, with its large, deep bathtub, promises long soaks and moments of calm.

Step outside to discover the walled patio garden, a private and secluded space that’s not overlooked. Shaded by apple and mint trees, it's a lovely spot for morning coffee, quiet reading, or an evening drink as the sun goes down over the village rooftops.

Testimonials

What our guests have said

“We had a lovely stay at Charlotte's. My husband and I travelled with our 2 year old and my mum and it was the perfect layout for us. Being close to the shops and restaurants made it easy to explore and there are lot of local kid-friendly attractions a short drive away. We'll be returning for sure!"

“This was a lovely property for a chilled weekend with my friends. We were really impressed with how well stocked the kitchen was as it meant we could cook a nice dinner with ease. We loved the location as there was a pub a few steps away and was in short driving distance to lots of attractions like Daylesford. My dog particularly enjoyed the walking routes from the town that took him to big fields to play fetch!”

“The perfect get-away for our family holiday in the perfect place. The house is located right in the centre of Stow on the Wold so all the gorgeous pubs and shops are just a stones throw away. The house was immaculate and had so many facilities. All rooms were a generous size and beds super comfy. The hosts even allowed us to check in a few hours early and we arrived to a fresh loaf of bread and milk in the fridge. 10/10 the perfect stay.”
