Welcome to Tucked Away
We are a small collection of beautiful Cotswold cottages designed for people who love great design, good food, and a sense of place.
Tucked Away was founded by Jim Cockell alongside Charlotte and Richard Tuck, hospitality professionals with a deep love for the Cotswolds and years of experience owning and running boutique hotels and restaurants. We’re a great team and we love dreaming up big ideas together and over the years, have achieved some incredible things. After years of working in the world of hospitality, we wanted to create something a little more personal. So here we are, with the creation of Tucked Away.
Something slower, softer, and more flexible.
Something that feels like staying with friends who really know what makes a good stay great.
So Why Cottages, Not Hotels
We’ve always believed that the best stays are the ones that make you feel at home. Where you can pour a coffee in your pyjamas, let the dog snooze by the fire, get out the ‘picky bits’ on the coffee table and watch the world go by at your own pace.
Hotels can be wonderful, but they come with timetables and turn-downs- things that don’t always fit modern travel. We wanted to offer something with all the warmth and polish of a boutique hotel, but none of the formality.
Each Tucked Away cottage is designed with that balance in mind: beautiful interiors, thoughtful details, and the kind of hospitality that’s felt rather than seen. Whether you’re here for a family escape, a foodie weekend, or a quiet retreat, every space has been created to help you slow down, reconnect and feel at ease.
Our Philosophy
Not only do we love the Cotswolds, but we live here too. We want to celebrate the best of what living and working here has taught us and what we’ve discovered. We understand the importance of design, restoring with thought and hosting with care whilst also being bold enough to interweave our signature personality with the Cotswold heritage. Each property has its own individuality, but they all share the same values: comfort, quality, personality and a genuine sense of welcome.
We’re not about ticking boxes or chasing trends- we’re about thoughtful travel, the kind that leaves you rested, inspired, and a little more connected to the Cotswolds.

Jim is the financial brains behind Tucked Away. He is committed to seeking out the most beautiful homes The Cotswolds has to offer that reflects our ethos.
Charlotte is the marketing whizz behind Tucked Away. She is passionate about The Cotswolds and the unique experience our brand creates for our guests.
Richard is the concierge & experience master. Years of hospitality management gives him a special ability to make each stay truly personal and special.
Ralph is our Chief of Happiness and lover of all things cosy, comfy and delicious. All our homes are Ralph tested and approved.

“The perfect get-away for our family holiday in the perfect place. The house is located right in the centre of Stow on the Wold so all the gorgeous pubs and shops are just a stones throw away. The house was immaculate and had so many facilities. All rooms were a generous size and beds super comfy. The hosts even allowed us to check in a few hours early and we arrived to a fresh loaf of bread and milk in the fridge. 10/10 the perfect stay.”
