Get Creative During Your Stay

A trip to the Cotswolds isn’t only about rolling hills and honey-stone villages. It’s also a place of creativity, where artisans and makers have built workshops that welcome curious beginners and seasoned crafters alike. For our guests who love to get hands-on, here are some of the best places to unleash your creativity during your stay in the Cotswolds.

Larkswold – A Creative Haven

Tucked away near Bourton-on-the-Water, Larkswold is a craft lover’s dream. From lino printing and silver jewellery making to willow weaving, candle pouring, and Christmas wreath workshops, it’s a warm and welcoming studio space where the kettle’s always on and creativity flows freely. Whether you book a half-day class or spend a whole day immersed in making, you’ll leave with something beautiful (and proudly handmade).

Paint Pot Parties – Pottery Fun for All Ages

For something playful and perfect for individuals and couples alike, Paint Pot Parties host events all over the Cotswolds and is all about unleashing your inner artist. Expect your own little station with artists easel, all equipment and refreshments on tap. They host all kinds of events from Paint & Sip evenings to Paint & Pizza evenings- giving you a chance to relax, meet some likeminded people and create a piece of artwork to take home and treasure.

Honeybourne Pottery – Throw Your Own Pot

A little further afield in Worcestershire, Honeybourne Pottery is well worth the trip. Run by expert husband and wife potters Alan and Annabel, their workshops let you try your hand at the potter’s wheel. Think “Great Pottery Throw Down” but with gentle guidance and lots of laughter. You can book taster sessions, full-day workshops, or even hand-building classes. There’s nothing quite like creating your own bowl or mug from a lump of clay and seeing it come to life. It’s all air dried too, so you can take your creations home with you to dry and paint and glaze at home.

Why Crafts Belong in a Cotswolds Stay

Craft workshops are more than just activities, they’re mindful, memorable experiences that let you connect with local makers and take home something truly unique. They’re also a perfect balance to days spent walking, exploring, or dining out: a slower, creative counterpoint that makes your stay feel all the more enriching.

The Cotswolds has always inspired creativity — why not let it inspire yours?

Testimonials

What our guests have said

"Lovely stay and this beautiful property. The Interior was spotless and the rear garden being secure meant we could relax knowing that our dog could not escape. The end of the garden got full sun but the lower terrace provided shade if needed. The decor, soft furnishings and mood lighting inside sets this property apart from many others."

Stable Cottage

"A lovely cottage in a perfect location. Winchcombe is great as a base to explore the area and big enough to be entertaining on its own. The cottage is in a location where you can walk everywhere so the car stays at home. It is beautifully furnished and decorated an every appliance you could wish for is there. Really loved staying there and would definitely go back"

Fern Cottage

"We had a lovely and peaceful stay at the Cottage. You get the charming stone house on the outside, and a warm and tastefully decorated inside; perfect! We were able to explore the nearby area on foot (met some cows), and the Cottage is in a very convenient location to reach other villages and things to do and see. It was exactly the vacation we were looking for."
