Something New is Tucked Away in Winchcombe

Some houses just have a feeling about them. The kind where you walk through the door and instantly know they have stories to tell and a personality all of their own. That was exactly how we felt when we first stepped into our newest cottage in Winchcombe. Within minutes, we knew it had to become part of the Tucked Away collection.
Sitting right on Hailes Street in the heart of town, this two bedroom Grade II listed cottage is everything we love about the Cotswolds. Full of character, slightly quirky in all the right ways, and wonderfully welcoming from the moment you arrive.
Inside, the cottage wears its history proudly. There are flagstone floors underfoot, original beams overhead and those perfectly steep cottage stairs that remind you homes like this were never meant to be identical or predictable. It is a home that slowly reveals itself to you, inviting you to settle in, get comfortable and feel completely at ease.
The front door opens straight onto the high street, meaning Winchcombe life is quite literally on your doorstep. Morning walks for fresh bread and pastries become part of the rhythm of your stay, with independent shops, delis, cafés and pubs just a few steps away. You can wander out for coffee and be back home again before it has time to cool.
And then, at the back of the cottage, everything changes pace. The garden feels peaceful and tucked away, backing onto the gentle flow of the River Isbourne with views towards Stanway Hill beyond. It is easy to imagine long summer evenings here, doors open, a glass in hand, dogs curled up nearby and the soft sound of the river in the background.
We instantly felt this cottage was perfect for Tucked Away. It has that balance we are always searching for. Character and comfort, charm and calm, somewhere that feels both special and completely unpretentious.
To help bring our vision to life, we are so excited to be working with interior designer Victoria Kjeldsen of Hello Geronimo, whose thoughtful and character led approach feels like the perfect fit for this home. Together, we are carefully designing a space that honours the cottage’s heritage while layering in warmth, texture and the relaxed luxury our guests know and love.
The cottage is being created as an ideal escape for couples looking to slow down and reconnect, and of course it will be dog friendly too. The enclosed garden and terrace will make it just as lovely for cosy winter weekends as it will be for warm evenings spent outside listening to the river.
Winchcombe itself holds a special kind of magic. Surrounded by rolling countryside and beautiful walking routes yet full of independent spirit, it manages to feel lively and peaceful all at once. It is the sort of place where you arrive for a weekend and immediately start imagining staying longer.
We cannot wait to get the design plans off paper and into real life and to share the transformation as it unfolds.
The cottage will be available from late May or early June 2026.

What our guests have said
"Lovely stay and this beautiful property. The Interior was spotless and the rear garden being secure meant we could relax knowing that our dog could not escape. The end of the garden got full sun but the lower terrace provided shade if needed. The decor, soft furnishings and mood lighting inside sets this property apart from many others."
"A lovely cottage in a perfect location. Winchcombe is great as a base to explore the area and big enough to be entertaining on its own. The cottage is in a location where you can walk everywhere so the car stays at home. It is beautifully furnished and decorated an every appliance you could wish for is there. Really loved staying there and would definitely go back"
"We had a lovely and peaceful stay at the Cottage. You get the charming stone house on the outside, and a warm and tastefully decorated inside; perfect! We were able to explore the nearby area on foot (met some cows), and the Cottage is in a very convenient location to reach other villages and things to do and see. It was exactly the vacation we were looking for."
