A Magical Christmas in the Cotswolds: Cosy Cottage Escapes

Seasonal Events
08 September 2025

When Christmas arrives in the Cotswolds, the whole region takes on a fairy-tale quality. Golden-stone villages glow with twinkly fairy lights, market squares fill with bustling shoppers and mulled wine smells, and the crisp countryside beckons for frosty walks. At the heart of it all, a Tucked Away cottage becomes the perfect place to call home. Whether you’re celebrating with family, your partner, yourself or even the dog.

It’s the kind of Christmas you’ve seen on screen - think The Holiday with Kate Winslet: a charming countryside cottage, a roaring fire, snow-dusted lanes, and a pace of life that feels wonderfully removed from the everyday rush. A stay here is about slowing down, indulging in simple pleasures, romanticising the small things and creating memories that feel almost cinematic.

Top 5 Reasons to Spend Christmas in a Cotswolds Cottage

1.     Cottages That Feel Like Home

With roaring fires, twinkling Christmas trees, decorations and space for feasting, our cottages offer that perfect home-from-home, with a touch of magic.

2.     Storybook Villages & Market Towns

From Stow-on-the-Wold’s Christmas markets to the late-night shopping evenings in Broadway, every village glitters with festive charm.

3.     Cosy Country Pubs

Picture a Christmas Eve supper at The Porch House in Stow (the oldest inn in England), a festive meal at The Chequers at Churchill, or a tipple at The Plough Inn in Ford – all just steps from your cottage.

4.     Festive Foodie Treats

Stock up at Daylesford Organic Farm Shop, where artisan cheeses, charcuterie, and fresh breads are perfect for a Christmas “picky tea.” Pair with local fizz and you’ve got your own seasonal feast.

Testimonials

What our guests have said

“We had a lovely stay at Charlotte's. My husband and I travelled with our 2 year old and my mum and it was the perfect layout for us. Being close to the shops and restaurants made it easy to explore and there are lot of local kid-friendly attractions a short drive away. We'll be returning for sure!"

Parsons Barn

“This was a lovely property for a chilled weekend with my friends. We were really impressed with how well stocked the kitchen was as it meant we could cook a nice dinner with ease. We loved the location as there was a pub a few steps away and was in short driving distance to lots of attractions like Daylesford. My dog particularly enjoyed the walking routes from the town that took him to big fields to play fetch!”

Cotswold Cottage

“The perfect get-away for our family holiday in the perfect place. The house is located right in the centre of Stow on the Wold so all the gorgeous pubs and shops are just a stones throw away. The house was immaculate and had so many facilities. All rooms were a generous size and beds super comfy. The hosts even allowed us to check in a few hours early and we arrived to a fresh loaf of bread and milk in the fridge. 10/10 the perfect stay.”
